Southern California 210 & 215 Freeway Interchange Paving

CON-E-CO Lo-Pro 427CM Self-erect Concrete Batch Plant with CON-E-CO 12 Yard tilt mixer allows onsite Contractor the ability to meet the Concrete Production needs.

Industry:
Ready-mix Concrete

End User: Cooper Engineering, Southern California.
Cooper Engineering is a Southern California based Concrete contractor providing onsite Concrete Production for State and Federal projects throughout the Southwest.

Cooper Engineering owns and operates portable forming equipment, and specializes on high production short term custom projects.  Cooper Engineering has joint ventured with several General Contractors on recent freeway projects in Southern California.  Job site production requirements range greatly from 200 to 2,000 yards per day.

Business Objective:
Cooper Engineering recently was awarded the Concrete Production contract for the California Freeway interchange of the 210 and 215 freeway in San Bernardino county.  Space for the plant operation would be limited with high production demands.  Super 10 Trucks will be used for concrete transportation to the placement equipment.

Cooper Engineering specializes on unique projects.  Lower production requirements could be accomplished without the need of a 12 Yard Tilt Mixer, while other production phases would require over 300 yards per hour.

Solution:  By purchasing the CON-E-CO 427CM Self-erect Mobile Concrete Batch Plant with optional 12 Yard Tilt Mixer, Cooper Engineering was able to meet their customers need with a highly versatile Mobile Concrete Batch Plant.  In addition to the mobile CON-E-CO batch plant, Cooper Engineering also purchased a NOBLE mobile single trailer 3 conveyor / loader hopper assembly, with a low profile drive over grizzly and 36” X 60 radial stacking conveyor.  The Plant feed conveyors can be setup on either side of the plant aggregate bin for future site versatility.  The drive over grizzly and radial stacking conveyor are separate from the batch plant and can be operated with their own generator.

Result: The plant flexibility allowed for greater site material storage and production.  Future project production requirements will allow Cooper Engineering to produce concrete via dry batching without the need of the CON-E-CO tilt mixer and reduce the job operating costs.

By producing their own concrete, Cooper Engineering can better control their concrete production and provide more flexible services to their customers.

The option to either produce concrete “Dry” or “Wet” allows Cooper Engineering the capability to bid on future projects that they would not be able to in the past.
